Our team of associated therapists wants to help clients who need tools and skills to manage their emotions. We also want to be a resource for the families and friends of people with this difficulty because we know how much you care. We are available to help educate therapists, psychiatrists, and physicians about Dialectical Behavior Therapy and how it has become the premier treatment program for clients with emotional regulation problems -- a fact that is well-supported by research.

Who We Are:

We are an association of independent licensed Marriage and Family Therapists, or interns and trainees under supervision by licensed MFTs, who offer Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) Skills Training, psychotherapy, and psycho-educational services to our community. We have formed our Consultation Team, (not a business entity) based in San Jose, CA, to provide a venue for clinical consultation and support for therapists and DBT skills trainers. The team approach allows for the sharing of clinical resources as well as continued opportunities for learning and implementing Dialectical Behavior Therapy best practices. California Associates is a team of independent practitioners who are not associated as a business entity in any way. Each team member is a licensed, sole practitioner or is a marriage and family therapist intern or trainee under supervision by licensed MFTs. The purpose of the affiliation is limited to consultation, clinical feedback, resource sharing, and ongoing training.
